Highlights:
General conference. Really good birthday present when you don't have to do a whole lot of missionary work and instead you get to just watch the prophets and apostles speak. Another highlight was when I found it easier to listen to Packer's talk in the Spanish voice over than in English. That helped my confidence a lot.
Not really a highlight, but we almost died this week. We were trying to catch a yellow, but due to a train, the cars were stopped just shortly past the light. The elder driving was looking at the light, and I was pretty convinced we were going to slam into the van ahead of us, so I just kept silent. The passenger elder yelled something I won't repeat, and by some miracle, we slid to a stop literally within 1 foot of the van ahead of us. I'm quite sure angels were pushing on the front to make us stop from 45 to 0 in about 100 feet or so. I'm grateful to now have the driving privileges this transfer.
We helped get a guy that just got out of prison to his home in Idaho by calling the transient bishop. I haven't seen someone so grateful in a long time.
We found an absolutely amazing investigator. I've never met someone with so pure of a heart and a strong desire to find the truth and to serve Christ. Her name is Yarlet (accent on the 2nd syllable). We talked about the Book of Mormon with her and her family, and they invited us over for dinner today to celebrate our birthdays (Elder Penaranda's is today and mine was yesterday, as I'm sure you all know). I'm so excited to see where this family progresses to.
No pics right now, sorry. I'll send them next week.
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes and presents, it means so much! Love you all!
